Description and Use

This lectern is highly mobile, ideal for transport and easy to move. It's relatively lightweight, allowing one person to carry it. The legs have cut-out openings for easier gripping and lifting. The screw heads securing the top to the legs are recessed into the top, creating a smooth surface. This ensures that papers lie flat on the podium, and screws don't interfere with placing books, documents, laptops, or other flat items, allowing you to use the entire surface. A restraining bar at the bottom of the top prevents items from sliding off. It's not too high, giving your wrists freedom of movement without discomfort.

This model always allows for the option to replace the top with one prepared for microphones. Internal shelves have pre-drilled holes for cable management, enabling the installation of other media devices like a prompter (under-desk monitor) at any time.

This model and design were developed by our company, ARTCOP, and it's our most frequently purchased lectern among our offerings.

Why more expensive plywood instead of cheaper particle board?

In our opinion, particle board is weaker than plywood, making it more susceptible to faster damage. While a particle board frame can last if well-maintained, experience shows this isn't always the case.

Furthermore, particle board lecterns are not resistant to moisture. If stored in a damp environment (e.g., an unheated warehouse, hall, or basement), the board will swell over time, and the edges will delaminate.

Such a lectern is not suitable for outdoor use, as even a light, fleeting rain will cause damage due to the reasons mentioned above. Particle board lecterns are also less stable, mechanically weaker, and more prone to swaying and distortion, leading to quicker wear and tear.

For these reasons, we highly recommend lecterns made from waterproof plywood.

Our Recommendation: Waterproof Plywood Lecterns

We personally recommend and manufacture similar lecterns from waterproof plywood covered with a waterproof laminate. The laminate can be any color or texture, such as marble or green. The edges are not glued but are additionally varnished to further enhance the lectern's water resistance, despite the use of waterproof plywood. This prepared frame is resistant to water-related defects. The lectern's construction is stronger, more stable, and stiffer. Plywood lecterns can be used both outdoors and indoors. Rain and moisture won't harm them. The only difference from particle board lecterns is that the edges show the "plywood" stripes (visible layers). Today, this is not a flaw but an advantage, as it's a popular design trend. We use plywood for the base, legs, and internal shelves, while the top is made of 10mm clear plexiglass. The front panel is made of Dibond (a composite panel consisting of two aluminum sheets filled with plastic). All components of the lectern are durable and waterproof.
