This lectern is highly mobile, making it ideal for transport and easy relocation for readings in various places. It's relatively lightweight, allowing one person to carry it. The legs feature cut-out openings for easier gripping and lifting. The screw heads that secure the top to the legs are recessed into the top, creating a flat surface. This ensures that papers lie evenly on the podium, and screws do not interfere with placing books, documents, laptops, or other flat items. This design allows for the full use of the top's surface area. A low restraining bar at the front of the top prevents items from sliding off, while still providing freedom of movement for your wrists without discomfort.
In this model, there is always the option to replace the top with one prepared for microphones. Additionally, the internal shelves have pre-drilled holes for cable management, allowing for the installation of other media devices like a prompter (under-top monitor) at any time. We can also install a touchscreen monitor (tablet) in the lectern to increase its utility.
This model and design were developed by our company, ARTCOP, and it is our most frequently purchased lectern among our offerings.
In our opinion, particle board is weaker than plywood, making it susceptible to faster damage. While a particle board frame can last if well-maintained, experience shows that outcomes vary.
Furthermore, particle board lecterns are not resistant to moisture. If stored in a damp environment (e.g., an unheated warehouse, hall, or basement), the board will swell upon contact with water, and the edges will delaminate over time.
Such a lectern is not well-suited for outdoor use, as even a light, fleeting rain can cause its destruction for the reasons mentioned above.
Particle board lecterns are less stable, mechanically weaker, and more prone to swaying and distortion. This often leads to quicker wear and tear.
For these reasons, we highly recommend lecterns made from waterproof plywood.
We personally recommend and manufacture similar lecterns from waterproof plywood covered with a waterproof laminate. The laminate can be any color and any structure, e.g., marble or green. We do not edge-band the edges, but instead additionally varnish them to further enhance the lectern's water resistance, despite the use of waterproof plywood. Such a prepared frame is resistant to water-related defects. The lectern's construction is stronger, more stable, and stiffer. Plywood lecterns can be used outdoors and indoors. Rain will not harm them, nor will moisture. The only thing that distinguishes these lecterns from those made of particle board is that the edges are "plywood" (visible plywood stripes). Today, this is not a defect but an advantage, as it is currently a fashionable design. We use plywood for the base, lectern legs, and internal shelves, while the top is made of 10mm clear plexiglass. The front panel is made of Dibond (a composite panel = 2 aluminum sheets filled with plastic). All elements of the lectern are durable and waterproof.
